- VAISHALI — Three teen brothers were burnt to death when their house caught fire in Karhatiya Paharpur village under Mahua PS. Their father, Arjun Rai, was too shocked to say anything to the police.
- BHABUA — Bhanu Dwivedi, a farmer of Sapanautian village under Sonhan PS, was set ablaze on Wednesday by more than 15 armed members of a particular Dalit caste in Kaimur district. Dwivedi (32) was overseeing the irrigation work in his field when the criminals tied him to a cot and set him on fire. Bhanu had filed a case for removal of encroachment on the approach road to the village. The main accused, Subhas Ram, husband of the local mukhiya, has been arrested.
- PATLIPUTRA — US ambassador Timothy J Roemer is arriving here on Thursday on a two-day visit during which he will highlight US government’s support for both public and private development efforts in Bihar and will also identify possibilities for future engagements. This will be Roemer’s first visit to the state and the first visit of a US ambassador to Bihar in more than a decade.
