Anant Singh’s brother shot dead
Barh : In a suspected revenge killing, Bihar’s ruling Janata Dal-United legislator Anant Singh’s elder brother and his driver were shot dead Wednesday evening by uindentified criminals here, a police official said.
Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) of Barh Sujit Kumar told reporters that two gunmen riding a motorcycle shot dead Sachidanand Singh alias Fajo Singh (52), along with his driver Awdhesh Singh (40) near a multi-storeyed shopping complex at Barh station road.
The shopping complex is owned by the MLA and his brother. Fajo Singh, a businessman and an advocate, and his MLA brother had a running feud with his cousins at Ladma village. Fajo and Anant Singh had faced attacks on their lives in the past as well.
Of his four brothers, Anant Singh is the youngest and the only survivor. While one of his elder brothers, Biranchi Singh, too fell to killers’ bullets, brother Dilip Singh died of disease.
The search operations have been launched to nab the killers, the ASP said.
Police suspect that today’s incident could be a revenge killing. Anant Singh has over two dozen criminal charges against him.
