Aurangabad: Maoists blow up bridges

News Desk - November 1, 2009

AURANGABAD — Maoists ambushed a private jeep and blew up two bridges in Bihar late Saturday evening, police said today.

Police said the Maoists had planted detonators to blow a bridge on Kasma-Salaiya road in Aurangabad when a private jeep which passed through the route came under its impact, badly injuring two people aboard the vehicle.

The injured have been admitted to a local government medical hospital for treatment.

Police said the Maoists also blew up two bridges in the district by using detonators, disrupting road communication in the areas.

“We have launched combing operation to nab the extremists,” additional director general of police, Bihar, Neelmani said.

Maoists have gone on the rampage in Bihar after the Centre announced to launch a massive offensive against the Maoists finding them as a serious threat to internal security.

These so called Naxals, could have used their name and effect to bring law and order in place. They could have helped to reduce corruptions, cast-ism, and criminalization.
But, in real, it seems to be seen totally in other way! whenever Naxal attack happens, it just disturbs the common public life! They almost always abduct honest administrative officers, engineers! They almost always attack on police/army personals, public properties like railway, bridges, offices, roads, vehicles, etc.!
I wonder! why don’t they kidnap some corrupt leaders? Why don’t they abduct or attack corrupt, characterless officers? Why don’t they attack on political leader’s luxurious bungalows? How can they claim to be justified?????????
