PATNA — The Bihar Engineering Services Association (BESA) has rejected the pay hike announced by the state government for its employees on December 29, 2009. It said that the state pay revision committee had violated the terms of reference and recommended salaries in an ambiguous manner.
The association pointed out that in the revised pay-scales, out of the five pay-scales, three pay-scales were not in accordance with the central pay-scales for engineers. The association alleged that the salaries of various positions had been tampered with.
BESA general secretary Rajeshwar Mishra demanded that the revised pay-scales should match the central pay-scale and that the assured career progression policy must be followed in case of higher posts as well.
He also demanded that allowances should be in accordance with the central pay-scales.
