PATNA — Bollywood actor and BJP MP from Patna Sahib Shatrughan Sinha regretted that his proposed film city project despite its obvious employment and tourism generating potential was being needlessly held in abeyance by the state government.
“I was told by Deputy Chief Minister Sushil Kumar Modi the other day that land was not available for the project and that I would have to purchase land for it. Land not available, that too in Bihar is nothing more than a lame duck excuse. No industrialist, as far as I know, has shown any inclination to set up an industrial unit here,” he said.
“The Deputy Chief Minister should have come up with a far more plausible excuse,” he added.
He blamed that after the initial excitement shown by the Bihar government, the project quickly became bogged down in bureaucracy.
The actor alleged that the project that was going to take shape under a public private partnership model has got no positive response from the Bihar government.

Shotgun has only made promises that he will make hotel and filmcity in bihar but he has made none, he is just fooling Bihar people, but not doing any actual investment in Bihar , when all Bihari people wants his investments and oppurtunity.
We really feel sorry for this!!
Jai bihar !!
Land is not big issue for film city if the matter will be directly discused with the Bihar CM it can be resolve but this rquired seriousnes from the both side( Goverment as well as from investore side) because plenty of land available in the outskirt of the patna city and nearby city.
Is this Film city going to be a non-profit industry?
The answer is most obviously No. Then why expect subsidized prime land from the Government. There is Land available, but one has to pay the market price to get it. Market price is generally 4-5 times the government mandated price.
Shatru jee can pick some remote/backword area for his Film city. He should then demand infrastructure support from the Government, which the Government can and should provide.
Film City should not be based in/around Patna. Patna is already overloaded. Patna is political capital, educational capital, business capital of Bihar. enough! let Patna be political capital, educational capital, business capital of Bihar.
uneven regional development will again devide Bihari & Bihar. People allready demanding Mithilanchal & Bhojpuri state.
ideally govt should organize infirtile land somewhere in Bihar for Film city. Let them establish not only film city but a city for people who will work there.
Govt should follow Gujrat model of development where not only Ahmadabad is developed but other parts are also developing.
We must have atleast 5 developed centers in different parts of Bihar, except Patna.

you want to move this project from Bihar? I think its nothing but creazy idea. We have to think about state progress. This project is just like God blessing. Both side (Gov. and Shatru ji) should take visible steps. All people of Bihar should be aware of this project. And Gov should provide some subsidiary and investor should be ready to pay near to market price.
Last year , Manoj tiwari contact Bihar Govt on this issue. Govt said them they are ready to give land between Daniyama and Hilsa. But, Manoj and satru demanding land in Patna. Now manoj stoped talking about this. Both of them needs lands free of costs. Govt have given lands to Prakash jha for making Malls and Multiplex (on market price). But it laid huge contrvorsy that time.
Hi
In Bihar, we have got very fertile land unlike Gujrat. So Gujrat does not have problem in giving barren land.
Shailendra, by that parameter no land can be given to any industry to setup their shop in Bihar? A film city will be change the perception of Bihar and I would call it a much needed project so that all Bhojpuri films can be shot here instead of Maharashtra. The industry gives a lot of direct/indirect employment to both skilled and unskilled labour. The state government should have no problem in land allotment if the project is taken to Champaran region instead of Patna. Well, I’m skeptical whether the government would think beyond Patna or Nalanda as if Nitish Kumar only the chief minister of Nalanda and not Bihar. Nitish is only giving excuses as he doesn’t want Shatru’s project to see the light of day. Everybody knows they are not on good terms. Also, these days CM has become a detractor himself just like Lalu. He is busier taunting and belittling Lalu and Paswan than to do some real developmental work. Power has entered Nitish Kumar’s head. Power corrupts, they say.
I agree land is not there but beauro crat babus are also can not be excused as they are also 50% responsible for delay in any ongoing project.
It is very clear with this news that if leader like Shatrughan Sinha is facing beaurocracy problem then you can imagine about AAM AADMI problem. I experienced being after visiting and staying in different state that BIHAR BEAUROCRATS are least public friendly and dominant. They seek always plenty undue respect from public. The best word in hindi can be described as Bihar Beaurocrats are “Ghoos Khor, Kaam Chor and Bhaw khane wala”. Shame on police department where you can not have any work done without paying money for Chai Paani to BADA BAABU and CHOTA BAABU. These BADA BAABU and CHOTA BAABU are the worst and dreadiest machinery used against public.
Actually it’s true that it’s difficult to get land in Bihar. The population is highly dependent on land for farming, which is the sole source of self employment for the majority of the people. Also Bihar has just 7% of forest land.

I really don’t think films and liquor store contribute to economy of bihar. Every poor man on the street after having his hard day of labour, drinks the country liquor, fights with his woman, scares his kids and sleep dreaming about being some film actor. This what moral of film is giving to our society. Sorry, there are good motivation movies, but they are fewer in numbers!!!

Just think immediately after our freedom we supplying 50 percent of sugar to our country. And due course of time the support prices of Sugarcane fell so much in BIHAR that people stopped growing sugarcane at all. There was no support either from centre or state to our own people. There was a national level PUSA institute, that too was taken away and that too without any resistance from our own people. Our people are very very simple and could easily be made fool. When other state representatives were taking their share to their constuencies for their people , I don’t what were we doing? Our lands are fertile and our water tables are better, still the state of agriculture is poor. I agree with Manish, State Government should involve farmer directly and we need more decentralisation of power …. from existing Gram Panchyat Sarpanch/Mukhiya to Real Farmer of village.
