DID YOU KNOW? The British received, their first "object lesson" of the power of civil-disobedience from "Champaran Satyagrah" in Bihar.
"Henceforth (Jan 26, 2010), for all intents and purposes, Jai Bihar will use Patliputra instead of Patna (e.g. Patna University will be called Patliputra University). We appeal to all to do the same. Your suggestions solicited at s@jaibihar.com." - Sanjeev Singh

BJP slams Shiv Sena for attacking IBN office

News Desk - November 20, 2009

NEW DELHI — The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has strongly condemned Friday’s attack by Shiv Sena activists on the offices of IBN-Lokmat network channel in Bombay and Pune.

BJP vice-president Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi said that the incident was “unfortunate and strongly condemnable”.

Naqvi said that law is equal for all citizens of the country and action should be taken against those responsible for the incident.

IBN-Lokmat TV channel journalists and other employees were beaten up and the channel’s office property was vandalised by members of Shiv Sena to protest the alleged misquoting by the channel of party chief Bal Thackeray’s remarks on cricketer Sachin Tendulkar.

The attack has drawn condemnation from all quarters.
