Bus overturns, 1 killed, 6 injured

SIWAN — One member of a wedding party was killed and six others received minor injuries when a private bus overturned near Siwan post office here today.
Sub-divisional police officer (SDPO) Ashok Kumar said the bus carrying the ‘baraat’ party was returning to Siwan from Sheori village under Rasalpur village in Saran district when it hit a road divider near the post office and overturned killing one person on the spot and causing injuries to six others.
The SDPO said the person killed in the accident had been identified as Bhim Singh and the injured persons were released after adminstering first aid at Sadar hospital here.
The driver and cleaner of the bus managed to escape, the SDPO said.
