RAXAUL / PATNA — The State Vigilance Bureau on Tuesday recovered cash, bank deposits and assets worth crores of rupees during simultaneous raids at Patna, Raxaul, Motihari and Dhanarua premises of Weights and Measures inspector Omprakash Singh, presently posted at Raxaul.
Acting on a tip-off, the Vigilance sleuths were amazed to discover the huge assets that Omprakash had amassed. The Vigilance sleuths recovered Rs 20 lakh in cash.
They also recovered documents of 40 plots of land and houses, mostly located in and around Patna worth crores of rupees. Omprakash has three palatial buildings in the Patna municipal corporation area and a few under construction houses.
Omprakash was appointed as a clerk in the Agriculture Department in 1975 and later in 1990 he was promoted as weights and measures inspector.
In Patna, the raid was first carried out at his six-storey Lalji Tola residence, Pramila Vila Apartment. Omprakash was present at his residence during the raid.
The vigilance sleuths also interrogated him. Besides cash and assets, Omprakash also has 20 acres of land in Dhanarua.
The sleuths also recovered bank deposits of Rs 6.5 lakh in 13 bank accounts, 30 fixed deposits worth Rs 5 lakhs, Rs 14 lakhs investment in LIC, ornaments worth Rs 5 lakh and Rs 6.4 lakh investment in the name of his son and daughter-in-law. Over a dozen officials were involved in the simultaneous raids.
ADG (Vigilance) Anil Kumar Sinha said it was a big catch. “We have registered a disproportionate income case,” he added.
This is the second major catch for the Vigilance Bureau this month. Earlier on June 12, the bureau had raided the Raja Bazaar residence of Muzaffarpur Excise Superintendent Sanjay Kumar and recovered cash and assets worth Rs 2 crore.
Bihar ki JANTA bhukh pyas se har kar desh videsh migrate kar rahi hai, do jun ki roti pane ke liye, is kram me kya kuchh nahi hota inke sath, kahin vo mare ja rahe hain ,jkahin raciusm ka shikar ho rahe hain,
Aur humare burocrats chori kar rahe hain apna pet bhar rahe hain, pata nahi kaun si padhai padhi thi inhone jo apne maa ko hi lut rahe hain.
aise logon ko sade aam fansi de di jani chahiye
Jai Ashoka!Jai Bihar
iss se kya hoga?
i think all the govt. department should be watch by CCTV & as such new technology to apply.
it will definetly effected to down curruption
Its not the fault of system, its our faut. We dont keep hold of our patience and want that our work should be dont, even we at the last of the line. We tend to bribe policeman, clercks, TTE and Examiners. Its not just that they are corrupt, infact we are the root cause. Most of us would have done the same, if we would have been in their position. Change of mentality is the need of hour. I should become Us.
This clerk is really a small fry and think how much money and asset he has accumulated this shows the level of coruption prevalent in Bihar. If SHO of bihar’s police stations be investigated then they will be found in same boat of pirot who are involve in looting the innocent public. Every one think that curruption has reached to the point of no return but i think that continous action and vigilence of such kind will help minimize the rampart curruption at the same time people of the state too have to be vigilent so that some honest officers can trape the culprit and book them for exemplary punishment. In the end I would like to sugest that,if government really want to eradicate the curruption, every bit of accumulated assets by currupt means should be forfeited.
Apprecaite the work done by the Vigilance department and by carrying out such operation they, officails and their team, should be rewarded. Their work will be worth mentioning if such cases can be tried in FastTrack trail courts and the culprits should be punished immediately to insure the message spreads across and opens the eyes of other corrupt bada babu so called and save the society to certain extent by this Vigilance department from the corrupt that has taken a deep root in todays world.
Aise chor logo ko jeevan bhar ke liye thoons dijiye
Jara sochiye Inspector jab crorepati ban sakta hai to bade MANTRI aur SANTRI kitna public ka paisa hajam kar jaate honge.
As per one survey out of 100 paise only 15 paise is spended for real cause rest 85 paise goes in coffer of all MANTRI and SANTRI (Baurocrat Babu) those are in project channel.
Lack of attitude and ethics make such things happen. You just examine preparator of exam like railways TC, CTC, Police, Sale Tax etc before qualifying they hmm… EK BAR BAN GAYE TO SAB KASAR PURA HO JAYEGA..
ye bahut hi sarm ki baat hai ki public ka paisa ye clerk chor log dakar rahe hai.
