HC orders probe into pilfering of BSRTC funds

News Desk - November 10, 2009

PATNA — The High Court on Tuesday ordered a probe by Bihar Vigilance Bureau into alleged misappropriation of funds of over rupees hundreds of crores by officials who served the Bihar State Rajya Transport Corporation (BSRTC) between 1959 and 2006.

A division bench of Justice S K Katariar and Justice K K Mandal asked the Additional Director General of Bihar Vigilance Bureau Anil Sinha to ensure a thorough probe into the allegations made in the PILs filed by the employees of the Corporation.

“The probe report must be filed in sealed cover by March 26, 2010,” the division bench directed Sinha.

The PILs were filed by several employees of the Corporation in 2006 alleging that the officials who had served the BSRTC under various capacities since 1959 had “clandestinely looted the Corporation’s funds worth hundreds of crores of rupees”, rendering the employees to go without salary for the past several months.

“The loot of funds was further aggravated during the period when over 600 buses were bought for the corporation,” the PILs charged and pleaded for a vigilance inquiry.

My comment will appear very strong and many of you will react with sympathy etc.

All these employees wouldn’t have thought of this situation when they were earning through wrong means during initial years. Every body was recepient of unathorized favour. Of course, a few of them may not be getting their fair share. But they are also responsible for not raising a voice against wrong doings with a hope that some day they will be given opportunity to take away their share of the so called loot.

Through Jai bihar,I would like to bring notice to the people of Bihar that ,the employee of BSRTC leaving Hazarard condtion. They are not getting Salary for several year. Some of the family who served BSRTC are not enough money to do cremnation of Parent, not even able to marriage their daughter …The condtion is very alarming.Even Supreme Court in his final decesion order to sell assets of company and pay salary. The bihar Govt has not taken any step on it.So I request all Bihar people /govt to do something for them.
