Debt-ridden Jet Airways on Friday cancelled all its five flights operating from the Jayaprakash Narayan International (JPNI) Airport till March 30.
According to Jet Airways executives at the Patna airport, several flights, except those flying under the Udan (Ude Desh Ka Aam Nagrik) scheme, have been cancelled across the country till March 30 due to operational reasons. Hence, only the Allahabad-Patna-Allahabad flight of Jet Airways, which is part of the Udan scheme and flies thrice a week on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays, is operational at the Patna airport.
“The Mumbai-Patna-Mumbai (9W 180) flight and three others between Delhi and Patna (9W 731, 9W 728 and 9W 781) have been cancelled till March 30,” said an official.
Due to abrupt cancellations, passengers had a harrowing time at the airport. Hundreds of passengers, who were stranded at the airport, stood in long queues at the airline’s counter and sought refunds.
