DID YOU KNOW? Kautilya, the author of Arthashastra, the first treatise of the modern science of Economics, lived in Patliputra (modern Patna).
"Henceforth (Jan 26, 2010), for all intents and purposes, Jai Bihar will use Patliputra instead of Patna (e.g. Patna University will be called Patliputra University). We appeal to all to do the same. Your suggestions solicited at s@jaibihar.com." - Sanjeev Singh

EC orders transfer of Saran DM

News Desk - March 18, 2009

PATNA — In a directive issued to the Bihar government, the Election Commission (EC) ordered transfer of District Magistrate (DM) of Saran district.

The EC also ordered the transfer of Andhra Pradesh Director General of Police (DGP) Shyam Sundar Prasad Yadav for praising the Congress state government.

While addressing a press conference in Kurnool a few days ago, DGP Yadav had praised the Congress government and Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy for recruiting over 37,500 police personnel and for rehabilitation of the surrendered Maoists.

“No other state government or chief minister in the country has done this,” he had said while showering praise on the government.

Controversies surrounded the Indian Police Service (IPS) officer of Bihar cadre ever since the government appointed him as DGP while ignoring some officers who were senior to him.

Pilibhit DM, SP shifted

The Election Commission today cracked the whip on the officials of Pilibhit in BJP candidate Varun Gandhi’s case ordering immediate transfer of District Magistrate M P Agarwal and Superintendent of Police R K Chaturvedi, while suspending one ADM and the Additional SP.

The EC found these officers wanting in their duties in the wake of alleged inflammatory speech by Gandhi on March four. Departmental proceedings against ADM S S Kamal and Additional SP Saurabh Kush had also been directed by the EC, UP Deputy Chief Electoral Officer (Dy CEO) Amrit Abhijat told newspersons here this  evening.

Mrs. Sunder Devi wrote you on March 30th 2009 regarding their problem, did you suggested anything? It was sent as email to DM, Sitamarhi and CM Bihar too, but nobody has replied yet. She had also sent a application to Surpunch at Jadupatty but no use, They called punchayat on 8th May 2009 but her elder son Sri Ram Vinod Chaudhary (Professor in R.R Campus, Janakpur Nepal) denied to accept whatever decision made by the punchayat. Please find the solution, for you reference we have enclosed the letter which was sent to surpunch of Jadupatty. I have video recording too of the punchayat held on 8th May 2009. It can be provided if required.

Thanks.

Sir,
I am a senior citizen couple (above 75 years old) from a remote village in Sitamarhi District, Bihar, India. I have two sons and two daughters, all are married and settled. A long back we have handed over entire properties between both of my son through district court.

Now my elder son does not taking care of us since a long time, so we are residing with my younger son, who is in Delhi. He has built-up a small house for us in village and time-to-time took us to Delhi for regular health check-up. He only made all the expenditure and fulfills entire need of us.

Whenever we come to Delhi, my elder son and daughter in-law comes to village in our absence and just damaging, occupying the things forcefully, claming that everything you have given to your younger son and still supporting them that’s we want this.

When we spoke to them over phone from Delhi they are just abusing and misbehaving with manner less language. We are not in position to go there so frequently due to health problem.

My elder son is a lecturer in Janakpur, Nepal, has dual citizenship for India and Nepal, when we go to our village for sort-out the matter they just go back to Nepal, and did not come in our presence to clarify the things neither supports us which was agreed to give us for our survival.

Please suggest us what should we do? As he has Nepali citizenship too, so whom we should complain, in India or Nepal?

If you have any addresses or phone no of senior citizen cell in Bihar please send us. We would be grateful to you.

Thanking you
Regards
Sunder Choudhary
