PATNA: Following the fast in the holy month of Ramzan, it was a time for feast and sharing joy on Monday when Eid was celebrated with fervour across the state.
City mosques like Jama Masjid at the Patna Junction, Dariyapur Masjid and Kankah Munamiya at Patna City among others teemed with members of the Muslim community, who offered ‘namaz’ between 7.45am and 9am.
Political leaders too extended wishes for a joyous Eid. Chief minister Nitish Kumar offered ‘namaz’ at different places in and around the city, beginning from Gandhi Maidan. “Eid is a festival to celebrate love, peace, harmony and brotherhood. Our society and country progress due to love, harmony and tolerance. It’s great to see that the unity and integrity of the country remained intact even at times of adverse situations,” said the CM.
Governor Keshari Nath Tripathi, leader of opposition in legislative council Sushil Kumar Modi and other cabinet ministers also extended Eid wishes of peace and prosperity.
