Lalu blames Maoists, says no need to probe

News Desk - October 3, 2009

PATNA — Noting that the Khagaria carnage, in which 16 people were killed, was the “handiwork of Maoists”, RJD supremo Lalu Prasad today alleged that there was a complete breakdown of law and order in Bihar.

“The Khagaria killings related to law and order. There is complete anarchy and chaos in Bihar. The incident is another example of the breakdown of law and order in the state under the NDA rule,” Lalu said.

Naxalites who had expanded their network in Khagaria following the state government’s alleged failure to rein in their activities were responsible for the carnage, the RJD leader told newsmen here.

The former railway minister earlier demanded a judicial probe into the carnage, but later said, there was no need for the same as it was clear those behind the attacks were naxals.

Political world is abuzz about a possible political conspiracy behind the violence that killed 16 people mostly young men and children. Many believe that the brutal killings could have been orchestrated to whip up tensions between two communities – Kurmis and Mussahars. Both Kurmis and Musahars belong to the unique caste coalition that Nitish Kumar has attempted to stitch for himself and his party – the JD(U).

Contrary to earlier media reports most of the victims are backward caste Kurmis. Villagers suspect the Musahars, a Dalit caste supported by Maoists, carried out the killings. The two communities have an ongoing land dispute.

Though villagers blamed Maoists and their sympathisers, no pamphlets were found at the massacre site — the Maoists usually leave notes which own up for the killings and warn others.

Had the state government been alert the carnage could have been averted as there was a prolonged altercation between the Kurmis and Koeris and the Mussahars in the area, LJP chief Ramvilas Paswan said.

The area falls in the riverine belt of Khagaria, infamous for its gangs and is represented by LJP’s state president and Ramvilas Paswan’s younger brother Pashupati Kumar Paras.

The dominnat OBC castes like Yadv’s are enjoying the befits of Reservation . They should be removed from jobs and their quota given to less preveleged Mahadalits

why only Land redistribution . There are people who slepp in mid houses In Bihar . They should also be given a prt of your pucaa house . All Industry/shops/business or wahtever remains of it should be natinalized .How can u compare a seth to the worker working in a factory . Even the worker should be the owner . Abolish all Propert laws and Bring Communism . Why people talk only about Land reforms and not other aspects .

I am damn sure that this massacre is actually done by Lalu + Ramvilas company to bring bad name to present government.

This gains more confidence from the fact that Maoists have openly said that they have not done this. We need to accept this because these Maoists openly come in front whenever they execute such things and never get scared in accepting such massacres.

Therefore it is definite that Maoists have not done this massacre. And this is why Lalu has not got tensed and appealing so much that there should not be any probe as he knows that if it is done it will be definately Lalu Paswan political misadventure behind this massacre.
The elections are coming and these are expected from lalu and company. I am just amazed how desperately lalu is claiming that its maoists job…as if either he is the same Maoist or he knew all well in advance!!!

Guys, no need to start blame game. Moreover all that I see on the comments, directly or indirectly, relates to Nitish or Lalu. Doesn’t it show how political we guys are even in our daily conversations. Being political is not BAD ut only until it follows a ideology & not a person specific. I request even to those who just keep praising Nitish. All of us need to be critical of what is happening so as to improve it more. Just that it needs to be a positive, healthy & logical critical reasoning. Hope we all learn from our past & make way for good.

mr shailender laloo was also the same but don’t try to justify the carnage. nitish with other ministers laloo and ram vilas all are responsible for this carnage. problem is that u all cannot blame nitish is he not the c.m of bihar. land reforms are the only solution but u do not support it. i have seen people from upper caste supporting nitish in all other things even it is wrong but when it comes of land reforms evryone changes their stand, what a hypocrate people we are.

Dear Amit, don’t see every things from cast angle. Now, Naxal problem nation wide problem. In Jharkhand , Maoists are running parallel government in Jharkhand (UPA ruled state & lalu and Ramvilas are part of that ). But, people like you, see only
law and order in Nitish regime. Indirectly, you want to say RJD rule was better than Nitish. But few days back, Lalu’s brother in law assault a woman public ally in Gopalgunj.

Nitish Kumar’s tactic to put Monkey on Lalu’s back. He is not acknowleding failure of Law and Order real reason of latest carnage while unleashing his Propaganda machine (Jaibihar) in blaming opposition.
