Nitish Kumar nominated for “Indian of the Year” award
NEW DELHI / PATNA : Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar has been nominated for “Indian of the Year 2008″ award in “politics” category.
He has been nominated “for consistent performance in turning around one of the most under-developed states of India.”
“If performance and silence were married, Nitish Kumar would have been its first child. Bihar has been never so quiet especially after the long reign of a flamboyant Lalu Yadav.
Nitish Kumar is delivering and the state is on a slow road to recovery. Not that Bihar has become the other name for heaven but it’s fighting deluge, corruption, poverty, illiteracy,” says the website.
The other nominees in the politics category are Omar Abdullah (the youngest chief minister of Jammu and Kashmir), External Affairs Miniter Pranab Mukherjee, Chhatisgarh CM Raman Singh, Delhi CM Sheila Dikshit, and Madhya Pradesh CM Shivraj Singh Chauhan.
‘CNN-IBN Indian of the Year 2008 ” awards recognize, celebrate and honour Indians who have contributed to our country, and in turn have strengthened our society and contributed to building Brand India in 2008.
This year’s awards are even more significant as they personify the undying spirit of a billion free Indian minds, in the wake of terror, natural disaster and economic challenges.
The exquisitely crafted trophy contains more than 5000 crystals from Crystalized Swarovski Elements.
‘CNN-IBN Indian of the Year’ involves the citizens of the country to participate in every stage from nominations to final award winner. An elaborate four-tier process is consistently followed while selecting the winners.
The nominee announcement process would start on January 12, 2009, and would continue till January 17, 2009.

really it is great achievement for Bihar that Mr. Kumar is the CM of Bihar.we hope that he will be carry on his all efforts for the development of Bihar.

would like to request him to tight delivery mechanism of all the schemes so that corruption can be stopped.

but topic is,,”Bihar Development”…Dil hai ki Manta Nahi…still waiting for development…NH :darbhanga to Jainagar” Still the condition is that difficult to go by walk also…but it is very busy road …No body is pointing of that matter,,every year its repair only,,not made solid..
Mr Nitish Kr has done a good job but it should be considered as begining and Bihar has long way to go.

What no politicians do inthe last 50 years of independence has been achieved by you . Now with proud we can say that Bihar is no 2 in the countryt in terms of GDP Growth . It is really amazing . Nitish made miracle this year for bihari ppl , but miracle dont happen every year

It is just the beginning n in the upcoming years we will surely see bihar as one of the leading state in the country n it could be achieved not only with the support of good governance but the role of ‘AAM JANTA’ is also prominent. Therefore I heartly request to the whole people of bihar that the future is on your’s shoulder so ‘if you cannot make it you have no right to break it’.

now it is the duty of every progressive ,and educated bihari to make the villagers and simple voters to understand the benefits of good leaders and good governance…..so that villain politicians are beaten by shoes…..
After so maney years bihar is in news for some positive things.
In simple words he is the best, not because i am frm bihar, but due to him it is the first time i have seen road in my village and for electric supply work is in still progress. I realy want to thank him for making biharis proud.
