After the Opposition alliance in Bihar experienced convulsions over several seats, Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) on Friday announced the list of 31 candidates of the alliance against National Democratic Alliance (NDA) candidates for the upcoming Lok Sabha Elections 2019 in Bihar.
Earlier, the political alliance between Congress and RJD in Bihar seemed to be falling apart as they failed to agree on the seat-sharing deal.
According to the latest announcement, RJD will contest on 19 seats including Bhagalpur, Banka, Madhyapura, and Darbhanga. RLSP to contest on 5 seats, Congress to contest on 9 seats including Patna Saheb.
Tanvir Hasan candidature was finalised for Begusarai. Sharad Yadav will contest from Madhepura on RJD symbol.
Jailed RJD chief Lalu Prasad’s daughter Misa Bharti has been fielded against BJP’s Ram Kripal Yadav in Patliputra constituency. Lalu’s elder son Tej Pratap’s father-in-law Chandrika Rai has been fielded from Saran.
According to reports, spiritually inclined Tej, who resigned from the party’s student wing on Thursday, has threatened to quit the RJD in protest against ignoring his choice of candidates for Jehanabad and Sheohar seats. He may contest as an independent against his father-in-law Chandrika Rai.

Senior leaders of the Congress were conspicuous by their absence at the press conference held by RJD.
Out of the 40 Lok Sabha seats in Bihar, polling would be held in 31 constituencies in phases three to seven between April 23 and May 19.
