PATNA SAHIB – Ravi Shankar Prasad from BJP has taken unassailable lead against Shatrughan Sinha of Congress in Patna Sahib Lok Sabha constituency according to the latest trends.
After the latest round of counting, Ravi Shankar Prasad has received 3,54,265 votes while his Congress rival Shatrughan Sinha has got 1,81,389 number of votes.
Patna Sahib Lok Sabha constituency being one of the most popular constituencies in Bihar went for polling on May 19 in the final phase of the elections.
Patna Sahib Lok Sabha Constituency was created in 2008, and since then, BJP has been winning this seat. In the 2014 Lok Sabha elections, Shatrughan Sinha, then of BJP won against Bhojpuri actor Kunal Yadav of Congress with huge margins on account of Modi waive.
The result in Patna Sahib is hardly a surprise, given the fact that it is a BJP bastion.

The loss has cast a big shadow on an otherwise distinguished political career of Shatrughan Sinha – all because of his affiliation to the saffron party. The BJP nominated him to the Rajya Sabha twice. The ageing actor also won two consecutive Lok Sabha elections on BJP ticket.
He had repeatedly called BJP his “first and last choice” but joined the Congress on the eve of elections when he was denied ticket by his former party.
Now, at 74, Sinha’s political career appears to be on its last legs.
