Post poll, Nitish govt in appeasement mode
PATNA – Post poll the NDA government in Bihar is in full appeasement mode to create a secure vote-bank for the ruling parties – the JD(U) and the BJP.
Soon after the Nitish Kumar led NDA Government made its mind to bring more castes under the Extreme Backward Castes (EBC) banner, it has decided to provide caste certificates and government jobs to Bangladeshi migrants.
Constitutional rights to Bangladeshi migrants
In a meeting chaired by Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, the government has decided to issue caste certificates and ‘ryoti’ (tenant) rights to Bangladeshis who had settled in the State after migrating from Bangladesh after partition.
The decision will benefit 3.5 lakh Bangladeshis of backward castes. There are 12 lakh Bengali-speaking people settled in West Champaran, East Champaran, Kishanganj, Katihar, Purnia and Sitamarhi districts of Bihar.
Chief Minister Nitish Kumar who held a meeting with the representatives of the Bihar Bangali Association on Wednesday to discuss the problems faced by the refugee families assured the migrants of government’s support on the issue.
The association had long been raising the issue of migrants and had even given a poll boycott call during the recent parliamentary election. The call was surprisingly withdrawn later.
“The Chief Minister has directed all departmental heads concerned and the DMs to begin issuing caste certificates on the basis of caste list of Bihar,” said Dileep Sinha, president of the association.
Once the caste certificates are issued, Bangladeshi refugees would be eligible for BPL schemes and state government jobs.
The high-level meeting was attended by Deputy Chief Minister Sushil Kumar Modi, Chief Secretary RJM Pillai, the Revenue and Development Commissioners, Personnel secretary and the district magistrates of West champaran, East Champaran and Purnia.
Rs 815 crore schemes, free land for Mahadalits, EBCs
In order to consolidate the Mahadalit and Extreme Backward Caste vote-bank further the chief minister has decided to spend Rs 815 crore on these castes.
The government would also provide land measuring 4 dicmil to every landless Mahadalit family. Families belonging to these categories but have land can get monetary help from the government to construct their house.
The State government has identified 1.7 lakh such Mahadalit families and planning to acquire 4000 acre acquire land for them. These welfare schemes would be launched on August 15.
More caste consolidation
The state government is also planning to bring Telis (Vaishyas) under the banner of the Extreme Backward Castes (EBC). However, members of the Coordination Committee of the EBCs have opposed the government’s move on the ground that Telis are much better off economically. The Teli caste sub-group is also numerically stronger than other EBC communities and understood to only come after Ahirs (Yadavs) in population.

Nitish Kumar has done a lot for welfare of people and gave a pace to the development proces but at the same time he is playing communal card to secure needless popularity among muslims. He announced tobuild boundary around “Kabriatan” and announced Rs. 10000 award to every muslim ( Alpshankhayak ) student who passes with first division in matric . Why not he did the same for hindu students also. Recently he announced to issue caste certificate and tenancy rights to bangladeshi immigrants. I want to ask him that when the whole country is feared of terrorisiom and bangladeshi refusee are indulged in all these activities then how it can be justified to give them such immunity just for the sake of vote. All the so called SECULARS must give answer to all these questions that why the dirty game of religion is played and hindus are portrayed as aggressor in all the cases. This is the country where 84% population is hindu but can’t get 50Acre of land on temporary basis in J&K for pilgrimage. Huge money is spent on Haj Yatra but nothing done for hindus on similar ocassions. Why there is such a discrimination in this country with a community which is in majority. Hindus should think and Seculars should give explanation.
It’s nice that Nitish Kumar is thinking something for the welfare of Bihar, we the citizens of Bihar have great faith in the contemporary CM of Bihar, Nice to listen to the new plans however some caste based things like privelage to telis are not appreciated. Hope Nitish will do very best for the state. But even he should ponder over maintaining the law n order in Bihar which is really declining after the genral election jst see the crimes hels after 15 may, no. of kidnapping, murders n robbery. Do something mr. Nitish
If the educated people like Amit yadav think Laloo/rabri is best politician for bihar just think about the Illitrate yadav who think laloo is GOD from him and they started builiding the temple ..
Please think beyond the cast there are so many cast other than the yadav in bihar they also need development …
Let’s assume is Nitish is not doing good job ..
Does rabri do ??? why do you vote here will you vote a dalit or any non yadav politician in rabri constitunecty .. and I am sure even if Manmohan singh will come and face the elction you will not vote manmohan singh because for you Lalu is GOD and he is the person who can do the cast politics for you .
Yadav is the cast who never ever vote beyond the yadav .. i am giving a example I am from Buxar constitueny (Ramgarh) Jagda Singh is know as VIKAS purus for ramgarh but in last parlimentry election YADAV did’t vote him they voted to yadav candidate DADAN YADAV allias Pahalvan ..
Please think out of cast …and raiase the point which favourable to bihar …
How come a politican say like that (IN LALU WORD – IT WITE KYA HOTA HAI ) and given her daughter to computer engineer ..
you don’t think he is making fool to public …and mr .Amit yadav inspired with Lalu …
Also to add on – We should not forget that Mr. Lalu had no Agenda for Development during his Mis Rule in Bihar for 15 Long years. We all should not forget what Lalu Said Openly in Media when asked about IT Development in Bihar – Ye IT WaIT Kya Hota Hai?
His pet line was “BHURA BAAL SAAF KARO” I hope you dont need further elaboration on this.
Being a Bihari was a Taboo, Nitish Ji is at least trying to rebuild the Image of Bihar in a Positive Sense. I left Patna in 2001 after completing my graudation for a job in Delhi and experienced the trauma of Being a Bihari every moment though I always proud to be a Bihari. After 7 long years I got an opportunity to work here in my hometown just because of the change happening in this state.
Its my appeal to all Biharis that do not get carried away by these caste driven politics – Support who Supports Development with Social justice & that is Mr. Nitish Kumar as of Now.
Its absolutely irrational comparisaon between Lalu & Nitish. One simple example in context to what Mr. Amit Yadav’s wrote – Lalu used caste calculations for his own benifits but Nitish has a dual agenda – Upliftment of Downtroddens & reaping benifits in return which I dont think is wrong in anyways. What Lalu did is sheer exploitation of his voters.
If Mr. Nitish Kumar is slogging himself for bringing Bihar on the national map for some positive reasons then we should all support him. At least his actions clearly demonstrates his intention unlike Mr. Lalu Yadav.
Also for your kind information, I am a Brahmin by caste but do not support anyone basis my caste. We would never be able to build a Developing Bihar if we continue to be fooled basis only Caste.
It is very well said by some one that – “We dont Cast our Votes rather we Vote For Our Caste”

15 years of distruction can not be build in 3 years , it takes 1 minute to blast a house , but it takes 1 year to build that house , why do not you ask same question to Lalu , why he did not build the road in 15 years, Nitish appease indians , Lalu appease terrerorist. He got killed 10000 thousand people in 15 year in cast war , mostly Dalits , poor and upper cast. According to you Rabari will be best CM for Bihar. Why you guys go out for begging for a job by destroying your own state, Live in chapra and do not even try to come out from Bihar. All Yadav and Lalu muslim supporters should stay in Chapra and sweet Rabari and ask for a Job to him.
This is how Nitish Kumar won Bihar. People on this forum were in Utopia. Nitish fixed all roads, fixed all dams, generated unprecedented jobs. Everything is fine now. Thats why people rewarded Nitish such big chuck of MPs.
Now I want to know from BJPiet bloggers about their view on giving amenities to Bangladeshis. I thought Advani want to send all Bangladeshis home. Nitish Kumar is giving then Ration card so that they can vote for him in next election.
I thought Nitish doesn’t believe in castes Manipulation, so what is this EBCs and Mahadalits.
But blogger on this forum won’t comment on this story. Now Let me guess what would have happen if Lalu would have done this……. All of you would have pull out your draggers.
If Nitish wins an election, its because of development, If Lalu wins election, its because caste consolidation and muslim appeasement.
At least Lalu appease Indian muslim.
Nitish knows that create further divisions and formulating different social equations only can help win elections. Development agenda should be left to media for creating all hype.
Indeed you have started doing better development than previous government so far so good but still you have to do lot more in the field of road and transport .Hundreds of village in the Madhubani district is still not connected with the main streamline for example a village in the Benipatti block which name is karhara is srounded by the rivers numbers of MLAS and MP has assured the villagers for connecting the village with the main road this work but unfortunately it is still pending , we running in the 21st century but why this village is not have the basic need like road electricity connection and other pallarel work .the prevous government has made charwaha vidhaliya is it was joking for for the bihari people the previous government thought why shoud we bother about the over all development like industrial development if the state will develop properly than who will listen us, how we will exploit the people so let the people sleeping dog a lie . without industrial development we will no be self dependent means every government is making budget only for the road show and not for the implementation
All these political stunts for votebank are not going to do something in favour of Bihar development, Nitish ji do something for the reopening of the locked mills, this will help you better in your political career and bihar success too.

Leaders forget public and promises after winning the election. But, It is nitish’s greatness, he try to fulfill their promises. During RJD regime of 15 years, Patna – Bihar sharif via hilsa is not repaired single time. This govt. rebuild this road and completed two lane project. I am asking just one question, Why i cast my in favor of Laloo.
