Actor-turned politician Shatrughan Sinha on Friday officially joined Congress, after he was denied poll ticket by BJP. Like every Congressman, he signed a declaration of unqualified allegiance to his new party. That means, naturally, to the Gandhis—Sonia and Rahul.
He launched a scathing attack on BJP after his exit, saying there was no concept of collective decision in the saffron party and he was disowned by the party.
In a series of tweets, Shatrughan, in his established drama-prone style of exaggerating things, eulogised the Nehru Gandhi family and exaggerated the family’s contribution in “nation building”. Sinha at the same time added he was hopeful of getting ‘opportunities’ in the Congress to ‘serve people’.
