Super-30 founder in Limca Book of Records

PATNA — Anand Kumar, founder and director of Super-30 in Bihar, finds place in Limca Book of Records 2009 for his contribution in helping the poor students crack IIT-JEE by providing them free coaching.

The institute selects talented students from poor families in Bihar and provides them with free coaching, food and accommodation so that they can focus on passing the IIT-JEE exam.

The Limca book says that Kumar, a meritorious student, was selected to study at Cambridge University in 1994, but because of the poor financial status of his family, he could not join the university. So Kumar set up the Ramanujan Society of Mathematics to help bright students to secure admission at IIT, an opportunity in which he never got himself.

The Super-30 coaching is subsidized by the money generated by running evening classes for Intermediate students who are interested in various engineering tests.

Several documentaries have been made on Super-30 in which one of them received an award at a film festival in the US.

“Hard work, proper guidance and supervision are the secrets of our success,” Anand Kumar, director of Super 30, said.

This year, the Super 30 coaching institute witnessed complete success for the second consecutive year with all 30 of its students clearing the highly competitive IIT-JEE. In 2003, the first year of the institute, 18 students made it to the prestigious IITs. The number rose to 22 in 2004 and 26 in 2005. In 2007 and 2006, 28 students made it through IIT-JEE.

i am pleased to find that at least two biharis —in you ,are talking like real biharis whose standard of talks are very high , mature which can really help whole of bihar ,india…..you are above narrow caste and regional politics……

bihar govt should take immediate service of persons like anand kumar and open higher centres of learning in the state so that brilliant biharis get chance to excel in the world… brilliant anand kumar was not lucky to get this chance..the centre should guide bihari students to get scholarships ,fellowships and allied informations so that they get proper chance to study in top ten international universities …..

further ,poor people should be given training in english language ,trades like driving in u s a ,
nursing ,medical technology ,technicianship etc and be guided to get jobs abroad…..

interactions of biharis with foreigners will open their eyes ,broaden their thinking ,instil global confidence…..

above actions will shower wisdom on them ,enable them to shed casteism …this will result into their fast progress as they will not remain koopmandook after visiting places like—time square in new york ,museums in washington , indian dominated oaktree road in new jersey ,south beach at miami–florida etc etc…..

Similar to Super 30 , Bihar govt should also provide scholarship to top 30 engineering/medical graduates from different Bihar universities to study abroad like USA/Canada/ Australia/NZ/UK etc so that these students can bring help in upliftment of Bihar by providing their services later in monetary and service ways

it is a great news that anand kumar is helping poor students to compete for i i t…..

also he is not only a great educationist but a great mathematician too….this should inspire all of us , specially when his name has appeared in the limca book of record…

bihar govt should honour him and use his services to set up higher institutes of learning in science and engineering which can attract dtudents from all over the world…
