PATNA — The Bihar Foundation, an initiative by the Bihar government enabling Diaspora Biharis to connect in a personal way with the motherland, has announced its formal association with the Britain based NGO Bihar Development Foundation (BDF).
A decision to this effect was finalized on Thursday, after a meeting of BDF representatives – Dr Rajay Narain, Dr Anurodh Bhawnani, Dr Bimal Karakboth with Foundation’s CEO Vivek Kumar Singh and manager Satyajit Singh.
The meeting was chaired by Deputy Chief Minister Sushil Kumar Modi, who also holds the post of Chairman of the Bihar Foundation.
BDF’s secretary Dr Rajay Narain said that his organization would assist the state government in implementing selected health-care projects. “We’re already engaged in various such projects in Bihar. The BDF is managing Karjain health center in Supaul looking after primary health care need of thousands of local villagers with help of an NGO – Prayas,” Dr Narain said.
The BDF, a registered charity in the UK, had earlier organized several free health camps in the state and also donated an ambulance to a Patna hospital in September.
