DID YOU KNOW? Alarmed at the tumultuous reception Mahatma Gandhi received in Champaran, the British authorities served notice on him to leave the Province of Bihar.
"Henceforth (Jan 26, 2010), for all intents and purposes, Jai Bihar will use Patliputra instead of Patna (e.g. Patna University will be called Patliputra University). We appeal to all to do the same. Your suggestions solicited at s@jaibihar.com." - Sanjeev Singh

We condemn attack (but won’t do anything): Congress

Anoop Mishra - November 10, 2009

NEW DELHI – In a true Congressi style, shedding crocodile tears, Congress spokesman Abhishek Manu Singhvi today said the attack by MNS goons on Samajwadi Party leader Abu Asim Azmi for taking his oath as legislator in Hindi, “is an assault on the idea of India.”

The Congress said that both Hindi and Marathi are sister languages and using one did not mean that the other language was insulted.

“If Hindi is our mother, then Marathi is our aunt. Using one does not mean that another language is being insulted,” said Congress spokesman Abhishek Manu Singhvi here.

He added: “If anything is being insulted, the Congress is the first to condemn it. But this is a criminal act, this is an assault on the idea of India. According to our constitution, our glorious democratic function, we are free to go to any part of the country.”

“We are a glorious democracy because India is one,” Singhvi told reporters.

He desisted from commenting what action the centre and state governments will take against the party of goons. Incidentally, Congress is ruling both at the Centre and the state.

The ruling Congress-NCP alliance in Maharashtra is allegedly supporting and funding MNS as part of its “divide and rule” policy to weaken Shiv Sena-BJP in the lawless state.

Congress is playing a very dangerous game like it did in the late 1970s and mid-1980s when it promoted Jarnail Singh Bhindranwale and placated Muslim extremists respectively. If anybody wants to know why a handful of Britishers could rule us for so many years, they must study Raj Thackeray’s ascendancy and Congress grand plan to segment India.

Congress is back with its dhoti age politics by which he has ruined the coutry for last 5 decades, so these are expected official comments from congress party on such issue or rather say it as a traditional response in such situation.
I think Rahul Gandhi is the right person to comment on this issue. Just by condemning and expressing concern will not be enough, if he is a leader of youth, trying to mobilise UP and Bihar then being a true indian his blood should also boil.
