Begusarai Proposes 991 Acres for PM MITRA Textile Park to Boost Bihar’s Industrial Growth

In a significant move to strengthen Bihar’s textile sector, the District Magistrate of Begusarai has proposed 991 acres of land in Kusmahaut village for the central government’s PM MITRA (Mega Integrated Textile Region and Apparel) Park scheme. The proposal aims to position Begusarai as a major hub for textile manufacturing and generate large-scale employment opportunities.

What Is the PM MITRA Park Scheme?

  • The PM MITRA scheme is a flagship initiative by the central government to establish holistic, integrated textile processing regions across India.
  • Each park is designed to bring together the entire textile value chain-from raw material to finished product-under one roof, boosting efficiency and global competitiveness.
  • The scheme is expected to create up to 1 lakh direct and 2 lakh indirect jobs per park, according to official estimates.
